Emma Kaiser is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Kansas, where she also received her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Emma has experience working with adults and transition-age individuals experiencing pervasive emotional dysregulation, interpersonal distress, trauma, and dissociation. Her professional background also includes hospital social work and criminal justice, where she provided Batterers Intervention Program services to individuals incarcerated for domestic violence offenses at Lansing Correctional Facility.

Emma has nearly a decade of experience providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in Lawrence, Kansas, at a community mental health center. She also facilitated an Advanced DBT processing group, supporting clients in maintaining and building upon the progress they made throughout the DBT program. Emma specializes in trauma treatment and working with the queer community. She completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training through EMDRIA in 2020 and has incorporated EMDR into her work to help clients process trauma and build upon the gains they make through DBT. In 2024, Emma completed training for Dialectical Behavior Therapy–Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE), and enjoys finding creative ways to incorporate exposure into sessions, helping clients build their life worth living with fewer limitations.

Emma recently moved to Chicago and is excited to explore the city and all it has to offer. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two cats, reading, crocheting, camping, playing Dungeons & Dragons, watching the Chiefs, and just about anything that gets her outside. Emma is passionate about helping clients identify and live according to their values. She understands that meaningful change requires safety, courage, and connection, and she strives to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported as they face discomfort, take risks, and work toward the lives they want to build.
